Building on the success of the 2016 Thailand Yacht Show, organisers have now turned their attention to the 2017 edition of the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS), which will take place from 6 to 9 April 2017 at One°15 Marina Club Sentosa Cove.
Looking onward to SYS 2017, Andy Treadwell, Managing Director of both shows, said: “We are very proud of what we have achieved in just seven years. We’re thrilled that so many of the industry’s most important players have identified SYS as the most effective platform from which to present their products to the Asian market.
“We are working with a whole raft of important new local partners in all the strategic countries in the region to get the right kind of visitor coming to Singapore in April.”
Asia’s epicentre for luxury, Singapore is the perfect place to host the bevy of luxury yacht dealers, brokers and brands who will be pouring in from around the world for the event. Dealers from the immediate region will include Hong Kong’s Simpson Marine, Thailand’s Boat Lagoon Yachting and Singapore’s own Hong Seh Marine.
Simpson Marine will be showcasing the Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62, the Lagoon 42 and the Monte Carlo 6. Boat Lagoon Yachting, the sole distributor of Princess Yachts in South East Asia, will lead with a line-up of 13 boats, including three models from the British brand: a 30M, the S60 and a Princess 49. Hong Seh Marine will present an impressive array of Ferrettis and the Cranchi Z35.
The show will welcome back new and returning superyacht builders including Amels, Baglietto, Benetti, Feadship, Fincantieri, Heesen, Lürssen, Silver Yachts, Heysea and Westport; and international yacht brokerage company Fraser.
The Ferretti Group will introduce two new yachts to the market, the brand new Ferretti 450 and the Pershing 5X, and Italian yacht builder Azimut Yachts will introduce the Azimut 95RPH to the region for the first time. In all, there will be more than 20 premieres among the show’s fleet.
Multihulls have long been popular in South-East Asia and well received at previous editions of the show. That’s why Australia’s The Multihull Group (TMG) is on board this year.
“TMG represents both Lagoon Catamarans and McConaghy’s range of Jason Ker-designed multihulls. We have seen the importance of the Singapore show grow in our region and this year we will be attending with clients interested in the latest catamarans from both stables,” said Managing Director John Cowpe.
“While McConaghy will not be represented at the show, we will be conducting a tour of its world-class facilities on the China mainland in the days leading up to the show. We will be attending the show with various clients who wish to explore the Lagoon range including the 620 Essence edition, a model unsurpassed in the marketplace having last year launched hull No 100.”
Another Australian regular is luxury yacht manufacturer Maritimo.
“The Singapore Yacht Show is an important one for Maritimo as it provides a gateway into lucrative South-East Asian markets,” said International Sales and Marketing Manager Greg Haines.
Maritimo recently sold MY Dragon Pearl, the most sophisticated M70 Maritimo has ever produced, to an owner located in Singapore. Dragon Pearl will be on display at the show, in addition to the M70 and M51.
“Maritimo is on an international drive to raise awareness of its brand and the extensive range of high quality cruising motor yachts it produces,” continued Haines. “We hope that this endeavour will be enhanced by our presence at the show.”
Currently undergoing a AU$30 million redevelopment over approximately 6,880 square metres, which includes a brand new maritime commercial building, the Sydney Superyacht Marina has made attending the Singapore Yacht Show a priority this year.
“It’s an excellent networking opportunity and a place to meet captains and owners at a time that they are considering their itinerary,” said Marina Manager Clemens Overdijk.
“Australia’s east coast through to New Zealand has so much to offer and is still, to some extent, unknown to many superyachts that prefer the traditional cruising grounds.
“By participating in the SYS, we are announcing to the industry that the long-awaited development of the Sydney Superyacht Marina is near completion and that the superyacht services in Australia, and in particular Sydney, have matured and are better organised to cater to the needs of international visiting yachts.”
Boat Lagoon Yachting, one of the region’s leading yacht dealerships, and the exclusive distributor of Princess Yachts in South East Asia, will be presenting the 2017 Show’s largest line-up with 14 yachts on display.
The timelessly elegant Princess S60, making her Asia-Pacific debut, is unmistakable with her sleek exterior styling and sculpted hull. From the generous deck areas for relaxation and sunbathing, to her large stern garage stocked with jet-skis and water toys, she provides a truly unforgettable cruising experience.
“The S60, inspired by the successful S65, has been developed to showcase all of the core S Class DNA in a product that is both captivating and refined to further establish S Class as a distinctive range within the Princess product portfolio,” said Andrew Lawrence, Head of Design.
The Princess 56, 68 and S72 along with the 75 Motor Yacht, 88 Motor Yacht and the Princess 32M from the award-winning M Class range make up the display.
From Echo Yachts, the 51-metre superyacht support vessel, Charley will be on show at SYS. Believed to be the largest composite resin infused vessel to be built in Australia to date, the twin-hulled, tri-deck shadow boat will serve White Rabbit Golf, the 84-metre trimaran superyacht that is currently under construction at Echo Yachts’ Henderson facility and due to launch before the end of the year.
Charley boasts naval architecture by New Zealand-based studio LOMOcean Design, who also contributed the exterior and interior styling.
Key features include a sheltered observation deck, informal dining area with seating for eight, and a lounge complete with flatscreen television and on-board piano, tender storage for several RIBs and a 12-metre custom catamaran tender called Vicky on the large aft platform.
In total, Charley can carry a fleet of up to 10 watercraft, including five tenders, four Jet Skis and a hovercraft, while her upper deck doubles up as a touch-and-go superyacht helipad. Other key features include a dive store, decompression chamber and sonar system for searching out dive sites.
There is accommodation for up to five guests in three cabins, while the crew quarters allow for a staff of 13 people.
Organisers of the Singapore Yacht Show are delighted to announce the participation of the SILVERYACHTS-built, 77-metre SILVER FAST.
At 77-metres (252.6-feet), she is the largest yacht ever to be displayed at the Singapore Yacht Show. Sales Director Jona Kan says: “She is a super-sleek, eco-friendly modern yacht whose construction and design give her ocean-going capabilities that push the boundaries of yachting.
“We believe that Asian yacht buyers will be impressed with the simplicity, efficiency and speed of our yacht, and we also believe that the Singapore Yacht Show is the best regional platform for those buyers to network with the industry and make the best, most informed choice for their yachting future.
Guido Krass, owner of SILVERYACHTS commented: “We have chosen to bring SILVER FAST to SYS 2017 as we know there are plenty of potential buyers in the region, and we are impressed with the growth and calibre of visitors to this event. Our yachts are ultra-modern in design and aesthetic, and also in technology and operation.
“We know they will appeal to the dynamic, vibrant clientele in Asia, and the Singapore Yacht Show is clearly the proven platform in the region for accessing those individuals.”
SILVERYACHTS has supported SYS for the last two years, and the company feels the time is now right to present their flagship in what will be her Asian debut. The Espen Øino-designed motoryacht has a sleek, aerodynamic hull form and superstructure that is characteristic of the shipyard. She is the largest vessel to be built by SILVERYACHTS to date and was crowned ‘Best Custom Build Yacht’ at Asia Boating Awards.
On the lifestyle side of things, the epicurean wonder that Sentosa Cove provides will be a major element of the event; a whole host of new food outlets and a beer garden are in the works. VIPs can head to a chic, redesigned VIP Lounge in the West Pavilion, or hop on board one of the yachts in the marina.
A plethora of supercar parades, glamorous fashion shows and the on-water Demonstration Platform, featuring toys and accessories, will provide non-stop entertainment for visitors to this year’s event.
