After over half a million miles crossing the world’s oceans it is time for Captain Ben Marshall to close his log book and set a permanent anchor with his young family in New Zealand.

So a new chapter begins for Ben Marshall, as he takes his knowledge of superyachts and the sea and opens Marshall Yachts Ltd.

Ben was the Captain of the Alloy Yachts-built Red Dragon for 7 years and continues to work with the yacht’s owners even after she had been sold. Prior to his role as project manager, owners representative and Captain of Red Dragon Ben was Captain of Vent D’Est and prior to this the 32-metre Holland designed, Naos.

Naos is now for sale through Marshall Yachts.

After so many trips via the Red Sea this region has become a specialty of Ben’s. Many captains and management companies know the Caribbean & the Mediterranean but few have the depth of knowledge that Ben has of the cruising and diving grounds of the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific.

“Once through the Red Sea and into the Indian Ocean the archipelagos of the Seychelle Islands, the Maldives and Mauritius are incomparable – the diving, fishing, beaches and birdlife are incredible” says Marshall “Every time I go there I am left with a sense of awe at what our world has to offer us.”
