Riviera’s new 50 Sports Motor Yacht has made its much-anticipated world premiere in a virtual presentation from the Gold Coast boatbuilders.
In a series of two videos released by the yard, on display are Riviera’s signature sports motor yacht design elements.
Among the innovative features is a foredeck that transforms from tender storage to sun lounge, a sports cockpit, an all-weather mezzanine seating area that affords alfresco dining and entertainment, a three-sided glass-enclosed flybridge, and a full-beam master stateroom as the centrepiece of a three-stateroom, twin-bathroom accommodation plan – all in a hull measuring 15.4 metres in length.
“We are immensely proud of every new model that we launch and it’s always gratifying for our team to showcase their innovative design, engineering excellence and premium luxury,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.
“We’re humbled by the demand for our motor yachts globally, and the 50 Sports Motor Yacht is no exception. She is in a league of her own.
“Under normal conditions, we would be showcasing our models in boat shows around the world, however, that is not possible at the moment.
“The current conditions in many ways have required us to adapt to such challenges and our team have taken a safety-first approach to launch this new model premiere.”
The exterior of the 50 SMY boasts a sporty, large-volume hull form, allowing for more space throughout the cockpit, mezzanine and foredeck configurations.
The rear cockpit boasts 6.5 square metres of outdoor living space, and is accessed from an optional hydraulic swim platform via dual transom doors.
Wide side decks with raised bulwarks connect the foredeck, and in the mezzanine there are two comfortable day lounges either side.
Access to the engine room is found via a large hatch in the mezzanine floor with a stainless-steel ladder beneath.
Owners have a choice of either Volvo Penta IPS or MAN V-drive propulsion. The proven and highly efficient power and drive options are twin diesel Volvo Penta IPS 950 (533kW/725HP) or twin diesel MAN i6-800 (588kW/800HP).
Joining the alfresco deck with the galley and saloon are a tinted glass sliding door and servery window set in a superior stainless-steel frame. A gourmet galley resides immediately to port, while the internal staircase to starboard, incorporating beneath a large freezer, liquor cabinet and glass storage.
4D Designs, in collaboration with the Riviera design team, has also excelled with the accommodation plan with a full-beam master suite bathed in natural light from large hull windows, a queen-sized island berth, chaise lounge, walk-in robe and ensuite. Guests are afforded a VIP stateroom with ensuite/day head forward and twin bunk cabin, all in exceptional luxury.
The official launch of the 50 Sports Motor Yacht will be followed by her world premiere tour which will include Australia and the United States. The first 50 SMY is now being shipped to the US.
