Wally is showcasing the wallytender48X at the ongoing 2025 Dubai Boat Show, which began on 19 February and runs until 23 February. The model features a combination of contemporary styling and an outboard powertrain designed for high performance, plus plenty of configurable social spaces.

The wallytender48X includes fold-down bulwark sections as standard, which expand the swim platform to enhance relaxation and accessibility at anchor. It also features a retractable passerelle that functions as a swim ladder, included as standard for convenience.

The deck layout is designed to accommodate family and social use, with seating, sunbeds, and alfresco dining facilities supported by a fully equipped galley. The cockpit seating is also adjustable, allowing it to face forward or aft towards the dining area to suit different conditions.

Additional elements include a concealed anchoring system housed beneath a flush-fitting bow hatch, operable from the helm station, and Wally’s wraparound fender, which serves as an alternative to traditional fenders.

The model on display in Dubai is equipped with four Mercury 450-hp Verado R outboard engines. The combination of a lightweight carbon-fibre construction and a hull designed for efficiency results in high top speeds and reduced fuel consumption.

Wally’s parent company Ferretti Group says recent sea trials have recorded speeds exceeding 54 knots, with a cruising speed of 36 knots and a range of 340 nautical miles.

The wallytender48X is designed for both short and extended trips. The lower deck suite features carbon-fibre flooring with teak furniture and panels. The tilting outboards allow the draft to be reduced to 70 centimetres when raised, making the vessel suitable for inshore use.

The model’s outboard engine configuration contributes to weight reduction and ease of maintenance, while the engines’ positioning outside the hull increases available storage space at the stern. The wallytender48X also features joystick controls for simplified docking.

Outboard boats often face challenges related to stern access due to engine placement. This issue is addressed in the wallytender48X by positioning the four engines apart, allowing for the central integration of a retractable hydraulic boarding passerelle and swim ladder.

This outboard version of the wallytender48 retains the visual identity and functional elements of the inboard model while accommodating those who prefer an outboard engine setup.
