A new construction phase of CRN M/Y 145-Project Thunderball has begun at the Ferretti Group superyacht yard in Ancona, Italy, with the relocation of the hull.
CRN is currently constructing the custom 70-metre steel and aluminium superyacht, which has a bespoke design and will be ready for launch in 2026.
The hull was transported by sea on a barge to the Ferretti Group superyacht yard in Ancona. Immediately after arrival, a full 3D scan of the hull was performed.
After the preparatory works, craftspeople will take care of the carpentry, the fitting-out, the machinery, the on-board systems and equipment before the installation of the furniture. The hull exterior will also be primed and painted.
The CRN M/Y 145-Project Thunderball is the result of collaboration between CRN and naval architecture studio Vripack, which developed the external lines and the naval architecture together with the Ferretti Group Superyachts Division Engineering team, and Nauta Design studio for the interior design and outdoor furniture.
The superyacht will have five decks, a length of 70 metres, a beam of 11 metres, and a volume of 1,100 gt. It can accommodate up to 12 guests and 15 crew.
CRN M/Y 145 is a vessel with a traditional elongated bow, a low profile and svelte lines like a sailboat, with curved bilges and a smooth surface. CRN says the entire design has been carefully devised for highly efficient cruising and comfortable, convenient manoeuvring.
This bespoke megayacht also has a peak shaving system to increase energy efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
Meanwhile, the interior design concept combines heritage with a refined contemporary look.
The brokerage and management company Y.CO is acting as the owner’s representative, supporting the owner through the construction stage, technical checks, inspections, and acceptance, as well as with project management, on-site supervision, and coordination of the external contractors.
Besides the CRN M/Y 145, CRN is currently building three more full-custom superyachts – the 67-metre CRN M/Y 143 Project Maranello, the 85-metre CRN M/Y 144, and the 67-metre CRN M/Y Project 146.
