Benetti celebrated the launch of the first Oasis 40M in Portofino, confirming that ten units have already been sold. Benetti will officially debut the Oasis 40M at the Genoa Boat Show from 1–6 October. The Oasis 40M is a 40-metre superyacht with a 385 GT and features extensive use of fibreglass.

Exterior lines are by UK firm RWD with sophisticated interiors by Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture in New York. It features a beach area completely redesigned for this category, with a one-of-a-kind pool for yachts this size, appropriately called the Infinity Pool. Just a few steps from the sea, it is set in a big space clad entirely in teak, with side wings that open out to extend the floor space, turning the beach area into a huge lounge and terrace overlooking the water.

Another innovative feature is the wheelhouse designed as a multifunctional space. It’s not just a helm station, but a new area where the captain, owner and guests can enjoy the cruise and decide the course from a new point of view.

Thanks to a futuristically designed steering position with a panoramic view, the space can accommodate six people, all seated. It also features full-height windows and huge spaces, making a comfortable area for guests.

The main and upper deck have large windows that enable natural light to be used as a design element. This characteristic and the unconventional layout of the spacious interiors are intended to “underscore a desire for symbiosis with nature.”

The three external decks are designed to guarantee a strong sense of continuity between exterior and interior spaces thanks to the prevalent use of pale materials and colours.

The yacht has four decks with five cabins for ten guests and four cabins for seven crew members included the comfy captain’s cabin located on the upper deck close to the wheelhouse. Equipped with two MAN V12, the Oasis 40M is a yacht for owners who are not in a rush and want to enjoy the cruise.

Featuring an excellent hull efficiency supplemented by a vertical bow, the yacht’s top speed is 18 knots. At 11 knots, it consumes just over 100 litres per hour, with a range greater than is required to cross the Atlantic.

More models on the way

Azimut Benetti will be showcasing an impressive nine new models in the next 18 months.

Anticipated launches include the new flagship model, the Trideck designed by Achille Salvagni and Alberto Mancini, the Flybridge 53 (also designed by Mancini), both of which will be ready by next January, to the Magellano 30 Metres, the older sister-model of the 25 Metres, which celebrated her debut in Portofino. Plus, the new Verve 42, a new Flybridge, and the new Magellano 66.

Scheduled for next September is the introduction of the 37 M of the new B.Yond category.

This past year, despite the halt imposed by the pandemic, the company has still managed to confirm a strong production schedule.

Vice-President Giovanna Vitelli noted, “I am extremely proud to declare that we have managed to ensure the delivery of all our orders, thanks to the flexibility that the company deployed at every level in the most difficult months.”

‘And that’s not all. We have had an increase in the number of units sold – 56 to date,” he said.

New CEO

Also this week, Azimut Benetti announced Marco Valle as the new CEO of the Group.

Since joining the company in 1996, Valle has been assigned increasingly prominent roles that have led him to take on the position of CEO of Azimut Yachts in 2016. He was chosen as the new CEO in order to execute the group’s objectives of “harmonising the best practices of both brands.”

Vitelli commented: “Marco, with his strategic, broad-range vision, his ability to promote teamwork, his knowledge of the market and, above all, his commercial intuition, is the right man to make this step.”

Focusing on the calendar of new launches scheduled for the next 18 months, Valle emphasised how important it is to keep the identity of each brand intact and distinct, while fully respecting the signature characteristics of each shipyard.

“Relying on a financial position that, despite this very complex year, has been further strengthened, we are now able to present a particularly rich program of product development. Our overall product range will increase from 30 to 35 models, essentially covering all the existing categories in the luxury yachting market, bringing the Collections from eight to ten, adding the luxury explorer category, B.Yond and the whole Oasis experience.

“This will allow us to continue serving our international clientele with even greater accuracy, meeting their demands with a range that not only offers yachts from 12 to over 100 metres long, but also makes it possible to choose from very different and assorted styles of navigation and experiences on board,” explained Valle.
