The Superyacht Summit Türkiye (SST), held on 26 and 27 November 2024, concluded after two days of industry discussions and networking at four key venues. The event attracted 450 attendees and was supported by key players in the maritime and luxury sectors, shoring up Turkey’s reputation as a leading yacht-building nation.

The main conference took place at Çırağan Palace Kempinski, a former Ottoman palace located on the Bosphorus. The event featured 26 speakers from prominent organisations, including Nuvolari Lenard, Damen Yachting and Fraser Yachts.

Topics covered included the current state of yachting in Türkiye, opportunities for refit yards, insurance solutions, and yacht branding. Speakers included Begüm Doğulu from the Yacht Tourism Association, Kerem Başer from KRM Refit, and Sergio Cutulo from Hydro Tec.

The first day of the summit concluded with an event at Anna Laudel Art Gallery in Taksim Square.

This venue, known for its fusion of art and social atmosphere, hosted guests for an evening of drinks, barbecue and contemporary art, adding a cultural element to the summit.

The second day took place at 2Plan Terminal, a 60,000m² venue that houses 1,000 collectable cars. The space provided a setting for masterclasses on luxury asset acquisitions, family offices and emerging investment trends. Özge Doğan from Karman Beyond Multi-Family Office discussed luxury asset acquisitions, while Ferhat Albayrak from Albayrac Tailor Made Automobiles spoke on collectible cars and restomods.

The event concluded with a Bosphorus cruise aboard the Halas 71, a 100-year-old ship restored to luxury. The cruise provided a scenic and historic end to the summit’s two days of discussions and networking.

The organisers highlighted the importance of the summit as a platform for dialogue, stating: “It is a fantastic place to meet, talk and exchange information in a relaxed way.”

The event’s success in fostering collaboration was reflected in the positive feedback from attendees, media partners and participants.

Sponsors, including Invest in Türkiye, MYBA, TYBA, Cimolai Technology, Quantum, Sirena Yachts, and Van Oossanen Naval Architects, supported the Superyacht Summit Türkiye. Media partners such as Nautic Television and WeAreSuperyachts played a role in amplifying the event’s reach.
