Admire awe-inspiring works from local and international artists as you stroll along the sand or swim in the sea at this year’s Swell Sculpture Festival, 6 to 15 September. Enjoy guided twilight walks, sunrise yoga, creative workshops and kids’ activities too.
The annual Swell Sculpture Festival is a free and all-inclusive 10-day outdoor sculpture exhibition, by the people for the people. Each sculpture tells its own unique story and collectively the exhibition speaks the story of Swell Sculpture Festival 2024, marking the 22nd exhibition, a celebration of connecting people, art and place.
From dawn until dusk and into nightfall the sculptures will amaze, delight, and inspire as Currumbin Beach is transformed into an unmissable outdoor gallery experience. Visitors are invited to immerse on their own level and pace with the sculptures set amongst the natural landscape.
Delve deeper into the unique artistic elements programmed each year by attending artist talks, guided walks and participate in sculptural workshops. Additionally, pop up exhibitions will be presented across the City of Gold Coast.
Swell Sculpture Festival is Queensland’s premier outdoor sculpture festival, with the signature exhibition presenting over 250 Australian and international artists to captivate the hearts and minds of a large and diverse audience of visitors.
Set between two iconic giant rock formations along the Gold Coast’s Currumbin Beach, the vast coastal landscape will be home to the iconic outdoor gallery for its twenty-first year.
Since the first exhibition in 2003, Swell Sculpture has flourished as one of Queensland’s leading arts organisations.
Celebrating 22 years of sculpture in 2024, Swell has a proven record of delivering high quality arts and culture experiences for large and diverse audiences to enjoy. Swell is accessible, authentic, unique, driven and dedicated to providing a platform for artists to showcase their works in public spaces for audiences to be wowed.
Swell Sculpture Festival 2024 will deliver over 60 large scale sculptures and a gallery of smaller scale works of art, accompanied by performing arts created by nationally and internationally renowned artists.
