Sanlorenzo has launched its latest flagship yacht, the SD132, which measures 40.7 metres in length.
As the flagship of Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit, the SD132 is the largest composite-built yacht constructed by the Italian shipyard and the most extensive in the semi-displacement line, continuing the legacy of its predecessors, including the SD92, SD126, SD112, SD96, SD118 and SD90.
Tommaso Vincenzi, president of Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit, says the SD132 incorporates new design elements while refining existing features.
“We are thrilled with the launch of the SD132 project, which embodies the perfect combination of significant size, innovative design, and timeless elegance, in true Sanlorenzo style,” says Vincenzi.
Vincenzi continues, “The exceptional market response has been confirmed by the five contracts already signed before the launch, demonstrating the great success and appreciation this yacht is receiving among owners.
“Every detail of the SD132 reflects the dedication and passion of our team, which has once again sought to challenge traditional limits related to onboard space and volume, achieving a remarkable result.”
The roomy SD132 has a volume of 420GT. The design incorporates asymmetry, which helps optimise the use of interior and exterior spaces. The beach area and aft cockpit form a connected space featuring lateral terraces that, when deployed, provide 70 square metres of surface area. This arrangement removes visual obstructions, creating an open terrace that enhances the connection with the sea. The fly deck offers an 85-square-metre area, including a mini pool in the forward living area, which links the main deck and forward section.
A side garage with transverse launching capability accommodates a tender up to 6.25 metres long. This feature, relatively uncommon for yachts of this size, allows for various custom layouts and is supplemented by an additional hangar for toys or a rescue boat. The asymmetrical layout positions the main deck walkway on the left and the upper deck walkway on the right, balancing weight and improving vertical circulation.
The yacht’s interior includes a 55-square-metre owner’s suite on the main deck, four guest cabins on the lower deck, and a crew area with dining and laundry facilities. The main deck also houses a spacious salon with large windows, complemented by an additional salon on the upper deck.
The SD132’s exteriors, designed by Zuccon International Project, focus on balance and harmony. “The interiors reflect the stylistic journey undertaken by the studio, aimed at enhancing a sense of naturalness and establishing a sensory connection between the owner and the yacht,” says Bernardo Zuccon.
“A material moodboard and earth-inspired colours create authentic, balanced, and welcoming environments.
“The exteriors also demonstrate a commitment to research: innovative layout solutions and technological flexibility seamlessly integrate the yacht with the surrounding nature, emphasising the livability of the spaces.”
The interior design incorporates natural tones and textures to create an inviting atmosphere, with features like cement finishes, dark and light wood combinations, and sustainable materials for furnishings and fabrics.
The SD132 is built for long-range travel, offering a range of 3,200 nautical miles, suitable for transoceanic journeys.
