The wallyrocket51, the first pure racing sailing model from Wally, has been launched. Designed to be the fastest owner-driver monotype in the world, the wallyrocket51 is also optimised for competitive performance in IRC and ORC categories.
As a Ferretti Group brand, Wally has consistently pushed the boundaries of style and performance in sailing yacht design. The wallyrocket51 continues this tradition.
Measuring 15.5 metres in length, the wallyrocket51 has an ultra-light displacement of 6.3 tonnes and features a refined hull design. This design was developed in collaboration with Botin Partners, which brought expertise from the America’s Cup and other high-profile sailing classes.
The boat’s length and innovative features, such as the trim tab, provide performance advantages for the yacht, including improved upwind lift and reduced drag.
Wally says the wallyrocket51 is designed for speed, versatility and ease of handling, requiring a reduced crew of just 11 people.
The water ballast located at the stern enhances hull stability, while the deck’s ergonomic layout supports efficient manoeuvrability with fewer crew members.
The sail plan features 167 square metres of upwind sail surface and 363 square metres downwind, supported by advanced materials including pre-preg carbon, Nomex, and Corecell, making the boat highly competitive.
