Overmarine Group has revealed the new Mangusta Oceano 52, developed by the company’s engineering department in collaboration with designer Alberto Mancini. Mancini, responsible for both the yacht’s exteriors and interiors, has expanded upon design elements from the previous models, the Mangusta Oceano 39 and Mangusta Oceano 44.
Italian boatbuilder Overmarine says the new Mangusta Oceano 52 introduces design solutions that maintain visual connectivity with the sea while preserving the spaciousness and freedom of movement characteristic of other Oceano models.
“The Mangusta Oceano 52 stands out for the bold design choices it embraces, with neat, streamlined lines defining the shapes and proportions of a dazzling mega yacht that commands a powerful and imposing presence in the water, coming across as much longer than her 52 metres,” says Mancini.
Mangusta’s president of Americas, Stefano Arlunno, directly supervised project development with the company’s engineering department. “Following a thorough market analysis, we decided to redefine our concept in the 500 GT segment, introducing unprecedented features in this yacht class; across all decks, innovation and modularity allow the owner to enjoy the lifestyle of a mega yacht,” adds Arlunno.
The design research resulted in a vessel with a length overall of approximately 51.1 metres and a beam of about 9.2 metres. Despite having a gross tonnage below 500 GT, the yacht offers modularity, enabling owners to personalise spaces for their needs and enhance cruising experiences. It is powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines, each providing 1700 HP at 2450 RPM (1268 kW), allowing the vessel to reach a maximum speed of approximately 16 knots at half load. At cruising speed, the yacht has a range of 4,500 nautical miles.
The first unit of this steel and aluminium displacement yacht is currently under construction at Overmarine Group’s Pisa shipyard.
The yacht features large glazed surfaces and technical solutions to maximise open, obstacle-free spaces across all decks. The main deck, almost entirely made of glass, especially in the aft area where storage trunks are relocated outside, ensures continuous visual contact between indoor and outdoor areas.
A distinctive feature is the master stateroom, located on the upper deck and facing forward, offering a 180-degree view of the horizon.
Floor-to-ceiling windows allow abundant natural light into the suite, which also includes access to a private outer deck with a large ‘Mangusta Signature’ infinity pool. A staircase leads from this pool area down to the patio lounge on the main deck, a versatile space that can easily be converted from a gym area to a lounge.
In addition to the master suite, two guest/VIP cabins are found on the main deck, where the master stateroom is typically positioned on other yachts. These cabins benefit from privileged locations, offering unmatched brightness and expansive views. The lower deck houses four more guest cabins.
The project places a strong emphasis on the owner’s experience, using transparent materials and open spaces to create a layout that maximises visual connectivity with the sea. The interiors feature soft, muted tones, complementing the bright and welcoming spaces and seamlessly flowing into the outdoor areas.
