Designed and built by French start-up company, Searider, which made its first appearance at Salone Nautica in Italy in 2024, the 100 percent electric Seacruiser aims to transform the future of e-watermobility.
“A vehicle that can deliver a new sensation to the youth,” said Flavien Neyertz, CEO, a jet surfing world champion and founder of the jetboard brand Esurf and the electric motor manufacturer Cobalt in Monaco. Neyertz said of the unique design “We started with just a napkin sketch and turned it in less than 18 months into the Seacruiser.”
Seacruiser offers 90-minute autonomy and a cruising speed reaching a maximum of 55 kilometres per hour. Compared with other PWC models which weigh around 190 kilograms, the Seacruiser has an optimal total weight of 70 kilograms, enhancing both manoeuvrability, performance and manageability for the user. Its designers promise easy handling and ride comfort, for a unique onboard experience.
In 2024, Searider won the prestigious Red Dot Award for Best Design Concept for two of its three models, the Searacer and the Seacruiser. The Searacer has a high-speed electric watercraft for thrill-seekers, with a 50-minute runtime and 77 kilometres per hour top speed.
The third model is the Seacross, is designed for “thrilling sensations and exploration on water”, with 60-minute autonomy, maximum speed of 65km/h and weight of 62 kilograms with batteries.
“Inspired by the essence of scooter, motocross, and MotoGP models, the three product types allow us to create innovative solutions tailored to exceed the expectations of every rider, from leisurely cruisers to adrenaline-seeking,” the designers stated.
The powertrain relies on integrated low-voltage technology with a compact and lightweight jet drive system that reformulates e-watercraft propulsion. This allows Searider to offer interchangeable battery packs, providing more versatility than standard electric vehicles. They are designed to operate noise-free, require minimal maintenance and produce zero CO2 emissions.
