Following the success of its first year, the second edition of The Honours is set to take place on 24 September, on the eve of the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.
The Superyacht Life Foundation and Monaco Yacht Show have provided additional details ahead of the event, which will highlight the individuals behind this year’s honourees.

The exclusive event will again focus on recognising influential individuals within the superyacht industry. Last year’s event showcased the inaugural honourees in an impressive Monegasque gallery, combining immersive art displays with presentations.

For 2024, a panel of judges, consisting of experienced professionals from eight sectors, received nearly 300 nominations from the yachting industry. These nominations ranged from from start-up founders, business and thought leaders, to yacht owners and foundation initiators.

The judges have reviewed the nominations based on several criteria, including impact and achievement, leadership and influence, service and commitment to the industry and society, innovation and creativity, as well as the integrity and character of the nominees. Three laureates have been selected from the final shortlist.

The event concept was developed with the intention of shifting attention from the yachts themselves to the individuals within the superyacht industry who are making significant contributions.

This year’s event is organised by the non-profit The Superyacht Life Foundation in partnership with the Monaco Yacht Show, with sponsorship from Agusta, Feadship, Fred, Jetex, Richard Mille, Sanlorenzo, and automotive partner Mercedes-Maybach. It will take place at Salle des Étoiles, Monte-Carlo Sporting, and will feature a format designed to engage attendees with the stories of the honourees.

Each honouree will be presented with the Bowsprit award, made by Preciosa using carbon and crystal glass. The award is designed to symbolise the far-reaching impact of their contributions.

“The exceptional people in our industry are a testament to its extraordinary nature,” says Gaëlle Tallarida, managing director of the Monaco Yacht Show. “I am thrilled to celebrate these individuals alongside the yachts on display in Port Hercule once again this year. From exploration and craftsmanship to sustainability and philanthropy, the stories emerging from the yachting community reflect true success of impact on the wider world.”

Dilan Saraç, executive director of The Superyacht Life Foundation, adds: “I’m thrilled about the second edition of The Honours – a vital opportunity to highlight the incredible individuals in our industry who are driving positive change toward creating a brighter, more compassionate, and more regenerative future. I can’t wait to share their inspiring stories and give them the recognition they truly deserve.”
