The Italian Sea Group has launched the sailing yacht Katana, the fourth vessel in Perini Navi’s 60-metre ketch series.
Katana was developed in collaboration with naval architect Ron Holland and is designed to deliver a sailing experience that prioritises safety, comfort, and performance.
The yacht features an aluminium hull and superstructure with a displacement of approximately 570 tons. Carbon fibre masts, booms and rigging are used to ensure a balance of lightness and strength.
The Italian Sea Group (TISG) says the launch, which took place at the Marina di Carrara shipyard, is a significant development in this project, which integrates advanced technology, performance and luxury.
One key innovation is the redesigned sail system, which improves the handling of the yacht and optimises performance under sail. The yacht also incorporates a dynamic positioning system, enabling it to maintain its position and course independently, without the need for an anchor.
The interior design, by French designer Remi Tessier, combines modern and traditional elements, including across the owner’s suite and five guest cabins. TISG says the design is marked by understated elegance, with every detail tailored to maximise comfort for guests.
Giovanni Costantino, founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group, says: “The launch of this extraordinary 60-metre yacht is a milestone that fills us with pride and attests to the strength and continuous growth of the group’s brands.
“Perini Navi will continue to stand out for its distinctive style and ability to innovate without sacrificing tradition. The Katana reflects our commitment to excellence and perfection, and demonstrates the strength and vision of a brand that not only looks to the future, but builds it with passion and determination.”
Katana is scheduled for delivery in early 2025.
