Riviera has announced that the hundredth hull of the 6000 Sport Yacht has been completed.

Riviera released the 6000, 5400 and 4800 Platinum Edition Series of their Sport Yacht Motor range last year.

This special 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is being delivered by R Marine Sydney dealer representative Michael Joyce to a new owner who has a long association with Riviera motor yachts. The 6000 will be his seventh Riviera over the past 13 years, with his most recent Riviera being her sistership, the 5400 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition.

Taking ownership of the 6000 was a milestone moment for the new owner: “My first Riviera 5400 was Hull 007 and the second was Hull 077, so the opportunity to get Hull 100 of the 6000 was hard to resist,” he says.

“Riviera has done a marvellous job with the 6000. She is beautiful and seamless, with a superior quality of workmanship, finishes, and technical equipment such as the CZone digital switching system. Riviera just keeps getting better and better.”

“Riviera motor yachts have always appealed to me, and the quality, especially over the past few years, has stepped up to a completely new level.

“The 6000 was always the boat that we desired. She carries a beautiful volume internally and is the perfect size to handle by yourself or as a couple.”

The new owner has been won over by Riviera’s Platinum Series Sport Yachts. Prior to owning a 5400 Platinum Edition Sport Yacht, he owned a Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht.

“The feeling I had when I stepped aboard the 6000 was the same feeling I had stepping aboard the 5400 Platinum for the first time after the 5400.

“The quality of finish from the high-gloss walnut cabinetry to the benchtops, and the engineering and technical upgrades, the 6000 has it all.”

The new owner spends every weekend aboard his Riviera with his partner. “The 6000 is our Sydney apartment,” he says.

“We sometimes take short trips to Port Stephens, Port Hacking and Pittwater, but mostly we enjoy our weekends on the harbour. It’s a great spot. Next year, we may look at planning an extended trip up the coast to the Whitsundays for winter.”

The single-level Sport Yacht layout suits a relaxed and social style of boating: “I was a yachtie originally, so I personally like socialising with everyone aboard and you can do that perfectly on the Sport Yacht.”

Distinctive platinum style

Riviera Platinum Edition Sport Yachts have distinctive platinum, black and white tones with a rakish style.

“The 6000 Sport Yacht has become a popular choice for those who truly enjoy the luxuries she affords,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.

“We are indeed fortunate at Riviera to have been able to maintain production at these times, and focusing on the care of our staff, dealership representatives and owners.

“Milestone achievements such as these bring great pride to our highly skilled Riviera team members, each of whom has a passion for quality that drives us to continually refine our model range.”

Impressive list of features

Throughout the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition, the list of features is impressive.

The main saloon deck hardtop is extended to enhance the sleekness, while also integrating an electric sunroof, providing protection to the generous cockpit with twin lounges, dining table, wet bar and barbecue centre.

Below the cockpit, there is a big tender garage with a built-in electric winch for easy launch or retrieval. On the foredeck, there is a large and luxurious sun lounge, a perfect place to relax.

Stepping into the saloon, the galley is located aft to port, featuring waterfall galley benchtops with stainless-steel sinks and mixer tap.

Glass skylights richly illuminate the aft area of the saloon, and a radar arch allows the sunroof to slide beneath. Forward is a sunroof that, with the addition of side-opening windows and aft awning window, creates a seamless indoor-outdoor world.

New-style Recaro helm seats with Alcantara inserts with diamond-feature stitching are a glamorous touch at the impressive helm station.

Below there is an atrium, which fills with light the accommodation deck to accentuate the crisp architectural look and feel. There are two layout designs available: the Classic offers four staterooms with the master stateroom amidships and an optional lower lounge; and the palatial Presidential layout has three staterooms, including a master suite that extends the full beam.

A versatile utility room accessed directly from the cockpit or through the master stateroom is ideal for safely storing recreational equipment. This space can also be optioned as a crew cabin.

The popularity of the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition goes well beyond her sleek lines and luxurious appointments to the latest engineering advances that have driven 40 years of evolution for Riviera motor yachts.

Joystick docking controls at the helm and in the cockpit provide confident close-quarters manoeuvring, the Glass Cockpit System displays all engine data and navigation information via a single interface for ease of operation, while the CZone provides command and monitoring simplicity via a digital switching system.

Delivering a smooth, quiet and efficient ride when cruising, the 6000 accelerates briskly to a very sporty top speed, powered by twin 10.8-litre Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s, delivering 725hp (533 Kw) each.
