Volvo Penta has launched a new global three-year marine warranty, effective for products delivered from 2025 onwards.
This warranty covers transmissions, engines, control systems and accessories under the Volvo Penta brand, offering comprehensive protection and global coverage. It replaces previous warranty structures with a standardised approach for both commercial and leisure marine customers.
The warranty provides three years of full coverage on Volvo Penta-branded products, transitioning to major component coverage for an additional two years. For commercial marine operators, warranty terms are determined by years or total operational hours, depending on which occurs first.
For commercial operators, Volvo Penta says its warranty addresses the demands of continuous marine operations, where uptime and reliability are critical.
Volvo Penta’s extensive service network delivers prompt assistance and expert care, helping to maintain vessel performance and minimise downtime.
Leisure customers benefit from the same global warranty. The company says it aims to enhance the ownership experience, allowing recreational boaters to enjoy their time at sea with assurance that their equipment is supported by a global network of authorised dealers.
“Our new three-year standard warranty underscores Volvo Penta’s dedication to providing robust and comprehensive coverage, enhancing the total ownership experience for both leisure and commercial customers,” says Pernilla Arslan, director of service market operations at Volvo Penta. “Leisure customers can now enjoy peace of mind with the knowledge that they are supported by the new all-inclusive Volvo Penta marine warranty.”
She adds: “For marine commercial operators, the new warranty is an invaluable asset, ensuring reliability, prioritising uptime, and supporting long-term operational efficiency.
“This commitment to premium-level support is aligned with Volvo Penta’s dedication to operational efficiency and customer success, making marine ownership as seamless and dependable as possible.”
Warranty management and repairs are handled by Volvo Penta’s network of authorised dealers, which includes approximately 3,500 locations in over 130 countries.
Volvo Penta, part of the Volvo Group, designs and manufactures engines and power systems for boats, vessels, and industrial applications. Its range includes diesel and gasoline engines with outputs between 10 and 1,000 horsepower.
