Princess Yachts has publicly announced the launch of their new flybridge model, the Princess Y72 Flybridge.

Developed in collaboration with Princess Yachts’ longstanding naval architect Olesinski and Italian design house Pininfarina, the Princess Y72 embodies the modern design, luxury, interior ambience and space iconic of the brand’s Y Class range.

Designed for outdoor living, the Princess Y72 features the same expansive full-length hull windows as seen on the Y95 while its indoor and outdoor living areas are optimised to create sociable yet practical spaces.

With a layout comparable to Princess’s larger Y Class yachts, the Princess Y72 offers two seating areas as well as an aft sunpad. A large U-shaped dining area, appointed with handcrafted teak table, is situated opposite a fully equipped wet bar with electric barbecue, sink and drawer fridge.

The aft sunpad can also be replaced with three sunbeds or an optional crane to lift and stow a tender.

Intended to facilitate a social living experience, the large main deck saloon is seamlessly connected to the cockpit via a sliding patio door opening to starboard, and the aft galley bar top via a hinge window.

Forward on the lower deck are three guest cabins abundant with natural light thanks to full-length hull glazing. A dedicated staircase leads from the main deck to the full-beam owner’s stateroom amidships via a private lobby area connected to the saloon. This space comes furnished with a sofa, dressing area and vanity desk wrapped and stitched in Livorno Stone leather, creating a contemporary finish.

“In the Y72, our design teams have established a new direction in the evolution of the Y class exterior design language, focussing on the development of refined, sophisticated surfaces in every area to generate a uniquely clean overall aesthetic,” said Design Director, Andy Lawrence.

“With the Y72, we are challenging the norm in smaller yet still incredibly innovative ways.”

Performance-wise, the Princess Y72 is equipped with twin MAN V12 engines available in either 1400 mhp or 1650 mhp variants – the latter allowing the model to reach up to 34 knots. The model is also available with either gyro or fin stabilisation and features Princess’s deep-V hull design.

“I am immensely proud of the Y72, which represents the next generation of Princess luxury yachts,” added Princess Yachts’ Executive Chairman and CEO Antony Sheriff.

“She has it all: 34-knot performance, beautifully laid out and spacious living areas, and a luxurious fit-out that underlines the extraordinary hand-built quality and impeccable design detail created by our 3,000 craftspeople in Plymouth,” he continued.

“She is unmistakably a Princess but taken to another level.”
