Numarine has announced the debut of its new 30XP superyacht, marking the Turkish shipyard’s first vessel to feature diesel-electric hybrid propulsion. Numarine, known for steel-hulled explorer yachts, continues its focus on producing vessels designed for extended off-grid exploration.

The 30XP fills a mid-sized gap in Numarine’s fleet, which ranges from 22 to 45 metres. Since its initial unveiling in September 2022 for the company’s 20th anniversary, four units have been sold off-plan. The design has garnered support, particularly from existing Numarine owners.

The yacht’s exterior and interior designs are by Can Yalman, with Ofist Design Studio collaborating on the interiors. The raised pilothouse design is intended for optimal use of space.

Numarine chair Ömer Malaz says: “We are delighted with the positive reception for our new Numarine 30XP. She is every inch an explorer yacht just like all our models with the capability of taking owners and their families far and wide in tremendous comfort and safety. But the addition of the hybrid-electric propulsion option marks the start of a new era of lower emissions for our yachts. We expect this to be a popular choice.”

Interior and exterior space

With an internal volume of 208 gross tons, the 30XP offers a flexible layout that can be customised to meet the preferences of individual owners. The yacht also features ample external spaces, such as an aft deck dining area and a sundeck for lounging. The design focuses on a connection with the outdoors.

Notable areas on board include the private balcony accessible from the master suite, offering a view of surrounding bays, and an office space in the master cabin with a study desk and full-sized windows. The beach club at the stern offers a semi-open area, with fold-down wings increasing the space to 46 square metres for water sports and swimming activities. A side-loading tender bay accommodates a 5.65-metre diesel tender.

The flybridge includes a U-shaped sofa and an eight-person dining table, with space for a wet bar and sunpads. Solar panels are an optional feature in the hardtop.

“This yacht offers an exceptional onboard experience with its spacious and well-appointed interiors, stunning exterior design, advanced technological features, and sustainable attributes,” says Malaz.

“It gives a unique opportunity to connect with the sea, embrace the Mediterranean lifestyle, and create unforgettable memories surrounded by the beauty of nature, all while enjoying the pinnacle of luxury and craftsmanship. It is this on-board experience that distinguishes these models from the market.”

Living spaces and accommodation

At the main deck level, sliding doors open up the main saloon to the outdoor space, with full-height windows allowing natural light. Interior design elements include deep sofas, natural stone floors, sisal rugs, and pale oak panelling, contributing to a Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic.

“As the 30XP will be our first diesel-electric yacht, we were inspired by a sustainable Scandinavian design aesthetic which prioritises simplicity, minimalism, and functionality,” says Malaz.

“We want to offer the feeling of being at home even when you are far out at sea.”

Accommodation includes a master cabin located forward on the main deck with a private balcony, dressing room, and ensuite bathroom. Four guest cabins on the lower deck include two VIP doubles with king-sized beds and two standard doubles, all featuring ensuite bathrooms and large hull windows. The yacht supports a crew of four, plus a captain.

Hybrid technology and sustainability

The 30XP is available with either a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system or a conventional twin 560hp MAN engine configuration. Both options offer a maximum speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots, with a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 8 knots.

In the hybrid model, electric motors are powered by four 108kW diesel generators, providing greater fuel efficiency at lower RPMs. This setup offers significant fuel savings compared to conventional diesel powertrains.

In addition to hybrid propulsion, Numarine incorporates eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems in its yachts. The shipyard says it prioritises waste management and recycling to minimise environmental impact.

Other technological features include advanced stabilisation systems, integrated automation, cutting-edge navigation and communication systems, and smart home technologies, ensuring a modern yachting experience.
