A new wallywhy200 model has been unveiled at the Hong Kong International Boat Show, which ran from 28 November to 1 December 2024.
This new version of the wallywhy200 features updated fabrics and materials for its interior decor, provided by Loro Piana Interiors, setting it apart from the first version of the yacht.
As part of Wally’s latest range, the wallywhy200 exemplifies the brand’s ongoing focus on advanced design, integrating cutting-edge technology and luxury with a nod to eco-conscious materials.
Wally, part of the Ferretti Group, says the selection of Hong Kong as the venue for this presentation highlights the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific market.
Developed by the Wally Design Team under the leadership of Luca Bassani, the yacht features interiors designed by Studio Vallicelli Design, with decor curated by Loro Piana Interiors.
Architectural style, generous living spaces, performance and comfort are all underpinned by the use of high-quality materials and furnishings.
Wally says the yacht is designed to ensure a smooth ride without slamming, thanks to the work of the Ferretti Group Engineering Department and Laurent Giles, who collaborated on its naval architecture.
The wallywhy200’s combination of bold aesthetics and simple elegance is complemented by a carefully considered spatial design, which maximises livability and the quality of décor.
The yacht’s widebody design, at 200 gt, stands out in its size category by offering a combination of large volumes, expansive living areas, stability, comfort and performance.
A central feature is the glazed bow, measuring 4.7 metres (15.4 feet) high, providing 270-degree panoramic views. The bow’s design ensures a quiet experience due to its separation from the engines.
Especially for the APAC market, the Main Deck Entertainment layout includes a spacious living area in the bow, with a large round table and a bar featuring a wine cellar.
The forward owner’s suite, which includes a transverse bed, is complemented by two guest cabins on the lower deck.
Among the architectural highlights is the glass and carbon fibre dome on the upper deck, as well as the one-piece laminated carbon staircase that connects the three decks. This design eliminates the need for bulkheads and support structures, creating a large open living space of 61 metres squared.
The decor for this version of the wallywhy200, curated by Loro Piana Interiors, features high-quality fabrics for both indoor and outdoor areas. The design makes use of jacquard fabrics, structured stripes, diagonal weaves, and bouclé, creating texture and depth throughout the space.
The interior colour palette draws from natural tones, enriched with aqua-green accents, while the cabins feature warmer hues such as burnt orange, taupe, and rust.
The upper deck’s interior and exterior spaces are defined by a combination of white and blue, in solid colours and striped patterns, with natural accents reflected in the aft outdoor areas of the main deck. The upper deck includes The Delight Chairs by Exteta in mahogany, designed by Paola Navone and Otto Studio, adding a timeless element to the space.
The main deck dining area features a large round table with a burnished metal base and wooden top, surrounded by chairs upholstered in bi-colour jacquard fireproof technical fabric. The game table chairs are covered in Wales Plain linen, adding a layer of texture. The expansive forward-facing glass wall is complemented by curtains made from Triangle linen, which allows light to filter through while maintaining views from the front.
The flooring includes a large round technical rug designed for outdoor use, crafted from high-quality woven ribbons. The space places emphasis on durable, easy-to-maintain materials, suitable for social gatherings.
The living area features custom Ginza sofas, upholstered in Boreas linen and cotton in a natural shade, with cushions in solid and striped linen in natural and aqua-green tones.
The master cabin includes a bed with a headboard upholstered in Villa fabric. The guest cabins feature headboards upholstered in Devondale linen with large irregular stripes, with cushions made from Maremma cotton moleskin and Lodge fabric.
On the upper deck, the outdoor spaces use fabrics engineered for durability, sun resistance, and water and salt protection, including polypropylene and Trevira. At the aft of the main deck, the design continues with natural tones in the outdoor fabrics.
The Delight Chairs, in a foldable director’s chair style, are upholstered in Dehors Antibes with a soft, geometric bicolour pattern. The large outdoor seating area features Dehors Bouclé fabric with cushions in Dehors Malibu fabrics, offering both comfort and durability.
