First revealed as a concept in 2019, the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato will be the prestige marque’s off-road capable vehicle, launching in 2023.
The Huracan Sterrato is based on the Huracán Evo sports car, modified for off-road duty with features like a wider wheel track, 20-inch alloy wheels, black wheel arch flares, off-road wheels and tyres, bash plates, stone deflectors and retuned mechanicals to improve its rough-road driving ability.
The popularity of the Urus SUV, Lamborghini’s biggest seller, has paved the way for the Sterrato, which has a 631bhp V10 engine.
It’s not the first Lamborghini off-road capable car. In the 1970s, the Italian supercar brand made precursors to the Sterrato for the Jarama Rally of 1973 and the Urraco Rally of 1974, both modified from standard vehicles into bush-bashing vehicles.
The Sterrato is likely to be one of the two send-off Huracán variants before the model is replaced by an all-new plug-in hybrid supercar in 2024.
There’s no official announcement on pricing or a definite launch date, but Lamborghini has tantalised the world’s autophiles with a two-part teaser evoking the thrill of the ride and its general appearance.
