The Axopar 29 XC Cross Cabin has triumphed in the Up to 10m category at the European Powerboat of the Year Awards, announced during the Flagship Night ceremony on the first day of boot Düsseldorf 2025.
The European Powerboat of the Year (EPY) Awards is an annual event held in January and is widely regarded as a key event in Europe’s boating calendar. The awards are hosted by Delius Klasing Verlag at the Messe Düsseldorf and are based on evaluations by a panel of independent boat-test editors and senior journalists from eight leading European marine media outlets.
The Axopar 29 XC Cross Cabin was recognised by the jury for its performance in rough water, practicality, and suitability for this category. The Up to 10m class prioritises safety, ease of handling, value and family-friendly features for day trips.
Launched in 2024, the Axopar 29 XC Cross Cabin builds on the success of its predecessor, the Axopar 28. Its development reflects the Finnish company’s focus on innovation and functionality. The 29 XC’s design incorporates versatility and functionality to meet the demands of various boating activities.
Jan-Erik Viitala, Axopar’s founding partner, says: “I want to thank our incredible team, who works so closely with our dealers and customers to get a true understanding of what real boaters want.
“With the launch of the third generation of Axopar, we genuinely believe we’re getting a good idea of what customers are looking for, and how we can continue driving innovation forward.
“At the same time, we remain true to our core DNA — creating boats that are easy to handle, easy to drive, and accessible for everyone, whether you’re an experienced boater or just starting out. There’s something in this boat that will cater to your needs and take care of you.”
The EPY Awards recognise design and innovation in boats that have been thoroughly tested over the previous year. The credibility of the awards lies in their impartiality, making them well-respected among boat builders, designers, and enthusiasts globally.
Axopar, a Finnish boat manufacturer, is one of the fastest-growing brands in the industry. The company designs multi-functional, accessible boats with a range spanning 22 to 45 feet, including two electric AX/E models.
Distributed in over 50 countries, Axopar has sold over 6,500 boats since its founding in 2014. The company employs approximately 1,200 people, with a turnover exceeding EUR 190 million.
