“We have outgrown our previous location, driven by customer demand, the addition of new products and an increase in traffic here at The Boat Works,” said Mr Cain, who has owned and operated AM Wholesale for six years.

“The new premises are situated at a hugely visible location on the corner. We have a massive new showroom and several new and innovative products to introduce to the boating public. “This is a great opportunity to propel our business to the next level!

AM Wholesale represents the world’s leading brands in desalination systems, marine navigation packages, on board entertainment, cameras, communications and marine LED lighting.

The new AM Wholesale Superstore is the next phase in the expansion of The Boat Works at Coomera on Queensland’s Gold Coast over the past three years – a $20 million investment by owner and CEO, Tony Longhurst.

The purpose-built facility spans 23 acres and comprises a 100 Tonne Travel Lift which carries boats up to 110-feet with a beam of 26-feet, a 70 Tonne travel lift and 45 Tonne hydraulic submersible Sealift, ideal for wide-beam catamarans.

The Boat Works boasts more than 45 individual businesses on-site, each operating independently to guarantee clients competitive quotes and transparent pricing. There are 30 Refit sheds and four Supersheds, 15-metres in height that can accommodate boats up to 36.5-metres (110-feet).

The undercover hardstand area provides a true all-weather work environment, while the dedicated hardstand storage facility is ideal for vessels up to 110-feet. There is even an expansive, long-term out-of-water storage area providing a safe-haven at affordable rates.

AM Wholesale will be officially opened Thursday 16 March ahead of the Gold Coast International Boat Show & Marine Expo, 17 to 19 March, where they will have a display of the latest products in electronics and boating equipment.

Mr Cain and his team are celebrating being awarded the 2016 International Dealer of the Year from Blue Water desalination, for the second year running. The award not only recognises sales figures, but also the quality of after sales service and support, and feedback from customers.

“The Blue Water desalination range represents the latest innovation in water makers,” said Mr Cain. “It has many unique features, including a stainless-steel shaft on the boost pump, 7-inch LCD touchscreen with modern dashboard layout and high rejection membranes for volume, speed and quality of water production.”

After his trip to Boot Dusseldorf in January, Mr Cain has taken on distribution for several exceptional marine products, among them the revolutionary electric motor system for boats. Finnish designed and made, the Oceanvolt system is silent and lightweight, emission-free and low maintenance, creating energy while sailing.

“It’s a clean, green and reliable replacement for diesel propulsion,” said Mr Cain, exclusive Australian distributor for the brand.

It uses a lithium battery and can work on its own or in tandem with solar or wind. We have great hopes for Oceanvolt and already have customers lined up for it, including new McConaghy MC50 cruising catamaran, and several private clients, both new and retro fit.”

It was Mr Cain’s first visit to the Dusseldorf boat show, one which he described as “inspiring”.

“It’s a massive show, with hundreds of boats up to 30m indoors and the world’s premium products. We spent an awesome few days taking in the whole show and have returned with our pick of the products.”

Innovative gear that will soon join the AM Wholesale line-up include products for data solutions, a specialised sailing racing product and a satellite weather, email and sms package that promises to be a category-breaker.

The AM Wholesale opening event will invite VIPS, clients, media and industry to inspect AM Wholesale’s cutting-edge products in marine electronics and equipment.

“The first Raymarine Axiom will also be on display – the latest multifunction navigational screen from Raymarine – which the general public can experience hands-on at the GC Expo,” added Mr Cain.

“We are very excited about this new phase – it’s exhilarating and nerve wracking at the same time. All signs indicate a positive, buoyant market at present and we are confident our product lines will surpass the boating public’s expectations. We are pleased and proud to be part of the vibrant offering at The Boat Works.”
