It was a strong weekend for legendary Italian motoring brands at the Monaco Grand Prix. As Scuderia Ferrari took top podium spots for the race in first and second place, for Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen respectively, the team’s sponsor Riva – which has its logo adorning the drivers’ helmets – was celebrating the European debut of its striking new 100’ Corsaro yacht just a stone’s throw away.

It was a canny choice on the part of Riva for the launch for the 100’ Corsaro, as the world’s eyes turned to the Monaco Grand Prix and the international glitterati turned out in their droves for the racing, the parties and the yachts. Monaco’s bay was packed with the who’s who of superyachting, and a captive audience was in attendance; Riva’s local base in the Yacht Club de Monaco was therefore the ideal setting to reveal a new model.

The 100’ Corsaro is the very definition of well-bred Italian design and prestige with a modern twist. It is the result of a creative collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the Ferretti Group Engeering Department and the Product Strategy Committee, guided by Piero Ferrari, Vice Chairman of the eponymous supercar brand.

“We are ardent to see Riva with Ferrari, the most famous Italian brand, in the 2017 Formula 1 World Championships. This extraordinary combination of two absolute icons, Riva and Ferrari, together celebrated the victory of the 75th edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, renewing a connection between manufacturers that has no equal in terms of history, popularity and ability to perpetuate its supremacy,” explained Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group, which owns the Riva brand.

Having had its world premiere in Hong Kong last month, the 29.9-metre flybridge yacht is a ‘descendent’ of Riva’s historic models, said the yacht builder, combining the perfect blend of comfort, performance, style and safety. With a well-proportioned, sporty profile, dark metallic finish and up-to-the-minute generous glazing, it marks a new chapter for Riva’s design. The 100’ Corsaro features up to five guest cabins and two crew cabins with a range of layout choices depending on buyer preferences.

“The 100’ Corsaro is a beautiful yacht in terms of design and proportions, elegant and powerful at the same time. It is a true wide-body that combines large volumes with an incredible attention to details. It is already a best-seller without rivals on the market,” added Galassi. “The 100’ Corsaro was Scuderia Ferrari’s lucky charm: Riva, official sponsor, and Ferrari celebrated the Monaco Grand Prix win, the first in 16 years.”

In 2017, Riva is celebrating its 175th anniversary. As one of Italy’s true heritage luxury brands, it stands shoulder to shoulder with Ferrari on hallowed ground for fans of true Italian craftsmanship and excellence.
