Sponsored by Benetti Yachts and Audi Centre Cairns, and coinciding with a fully-booked marina, the private party for members, VIP guests and of course the superyacht crew and guests, was held on the stunning Sailfish Quay with a billion-dollar view of the fully lit superyachts in port.

Capable of accommodating vessels up to 140-metres in a dedicated superyacht berth, Cairns Marlin Marina is the largest superyacht marina in Australia.

“From the oldest tropical rainforest on earth to the Great Barrier Reef, this event allows us to showcase our region to international vessels and help to spread the word of all that our region has to offer,” Alan Ren of Audi Centre Cairns said.

Benetti Yachts, APAC Marketing Manager, Natalie Ye, arrived the day prior, direct from Cannes, and expressed she is extremely interested in learning more about the Australian marine tourism market, especially what the Great Barrier Reef region has to offer the global fleet.

Peter Mahony, APAC General Manager of Benetti Yachts said, “We are delighted to have experienced a significant increase in interest, particularly with our Oasis 40, FAST 125 and larger custom projects for boats that will potentially be Australia and New Zealand based.”

Attendees included John Morris of MY Dreamtime, Perry James of Geoff Lovett International, Dr Neil Gordon, Andy Ridley, Wendy Morris, Kimberley O’Neill of Gold Coast City Marina plus many more with superyacht captains, crew and even owners taking part.

Highlights of the evening were the superyacht crew cocktail competition (featuring Three Wolves newly released gin delivered to each vessel with a side of local botanical ingredients), the crew dance-off and the sensational KL Performance Industry dancers!

Edgehill Butchery, ISP Fish Market, Providore Amore, Oatley Wines and Barrier Reef Brewing Co. showcased their high-end, local wares to the appreciative audience.
