Island escape

Just off the coast of Phuket, Thailand a new five-star resort has opened offering epic ocean views, stunning waterfalls, lush gardens and not one, but three private beaches. The resort, Island Escape by Burasari, is on the tropical island of Koh Maphrao (or ‘Coconut Island’).

“Island Escape by Burasari is designed for spontaneous romance and happiness. It’s one of only two resorts on the island, and the first of its kind to combine luxury with a ‘‘feel at home’’ concept” says Simon Douthett, General Manager.

Koh Maphrao has approximately 1,000 residents living on the island, and is just a five-minute long-tail boat ride from Phuket. From Koh Maphrao’s main pier, Island Escape by Burasari’s private speedboat will transfer guests to the resort on the southwestern shore of the island.

Island Escape by Burasari features a mix of one- to four-bedroom private villas. With each villa designed using natural materials to create a sustainable yet luxurious space.
