ASMEX 2018 will return to Sanctuary Cove on the 21 to 23 May, immediately prior to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show’s 30th anniversary. The conference theme of “Changing the game down under. Australia has it all”, stems from the consistent growth the Australian superyacht industry has displayed over the past decade, and signifies the role Australia has played and will play in defining the current trends of the changing global market.
The conference theme will drive a program that delivers insight into these global market trends; what is really happening in the South Pacific; provide relevant information on key marketing and communications trends; outline the Australian government’s strategy for establishing Australia as the new destination and the governments focus of driving growth within all sectors of Australia’s marine industry, and provide those invaluable opportunities to network and develop industry alliances and relationships.
ASMEX also incorporates the 2018 Australian Marine Industry Awards. This year sees the introduction of the new Australian Voyage Award.
The awards are presented at the annual Marine Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 22 May 2018 in MacArthur’s ballroom at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, immediately prior to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
The 2018 judging panel will meet in Sanctuary Cove on Tuesday 16 April 2018 to judge the applications and decide on the 2018 winners.
A separate judging panel has been formed for the new Australian Voyage Award and will convene early April to discuss and review the entries.
This inaugural award is the initiative of Captain Carl Brandes and his wife Melanie and they are very generously sponsoring this award. After their own experience of winning the Voyagers Award and being in attendance at the World Superyacht Awards announced in Florence, they wanted to share this unbelievable experience and opportunity to promote Australia with the Australian industry. Superyacht Australia encourage all of industry to promote this award and encourage superyachts who cruised within Australian waters during 2017 to apply by the 23 March 2018.
